Simple, Nutritious & Perfect for Weaning!
Introducing solids to your baby is such a special milestone – a beautiful (and sometimes messy!) journey of discovery. In my latest video, I shared a step-by-step guide on how to make smooth, delicious baby purées right from your kitchen, using fresh ingredients and no preservatives. Whether you’re just starting the weaning journey or looking for new ideas to nourish your little one, this recipe is a gentle and nutritious option.
🥣 Why Homemade Puree?
Store-bought baby food can be convenient, but when you make it yourself, you know exactly what goes into every spoonful – no added sugar, salt, or mystery ingredients. You also get to introduce your baby to the real taste of fruits and vegetables.
🌟 In This Video, I Showed You How To:
- Select the Right Ingredients – I used [insert your ingredients, e.g. sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, or peas], which are packed with vitamins and easy on baby’s tummy.
- Prep and Cook Safely – All ingredients were peeled, chopped, and either steamed or boiled until tender. This helps retain nutrients and makes blending easier.
- Blend to Perfection – I used a blender to create a smooth, creamy texture. You can also add a little breast milk, formula, or clean water to adjust consistency based on your baby’s stage.
- Store and Serve – I shared tips for storing purée in small containers or freezer trays for easy batch cooking.
💡 Tips for Weaning Success:
- Always introduce one new food at a time and wait a few days before trying another to watch for allergies.
- Start with single-ingredient purées before mixing flavors.
- Let your baby lead – some days they’ll eat more, some days less. That’s okay!
🍼 Recipe Variations:
Here are a few purée ideas you can try next:
- Apple + Pear
- Carrot + Sweet Potato
- Avocado + Banana
- Pumpkin + Papaya
