How to Sneak Veggies Into Your Child’s Meals (Without a Fight!) 🥦

97

If your child could vote veggies out of the house, they probably would! I remember the first time I tried serving steamed carrots to my toddler—she looked at me like I had committed the ultimate betrayal. “What is this, Mommy?” she asked, poking it suspiciously. One bite in, and the dramatic gagging began. Sigh.

But I wasn’t going to give up. Instead, I got sneaky. Here’s how I started adding veggies to her meals—without the fuss:

🥕 Blend into smoothies – I tossed a handful of spinach into her banana smoothie, held my breath, and waited. “Yummy!” she said, sipping away. Victory!
🍲 Mix into sauces – I pureed carrots and bell peppers into her favorite jollof rice. She finished the whole thing completely unaware.
🧀 Add to cheesy dishes – A little grated zucchini mixed into her mac and cheese? She didn’t even notice.

Sometimes, kids just need a little disguise to love their veggies. And honestly? I’ll take the win however I can! Try these tricks, and let me know if they work in your home too! 💚
